Sino-Dutch Soil Remediation Technology Workshop of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Wageningen University co-organized by School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Dutch Consulate General in Shanghai was successfully held from April 20 to 21, 2017. Professor Che Qingquan, deputy dean of School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and counsellor Anne te Veide of Infrastructure and Environment Ministry of Royal Netherlands Embassy delivered a speech respectively on behalf of the organizers. In-depth academic communication was made at the workshop by focusing on impact of soil pollution and risk analysis, soil remediation technology and agricultural soil governance and food safety.
More than 100 experts and representatives from more than Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Fujian, Hunan, Henan, Hebei, Shandong and Shanghai attended the workshop. During the workshop, foreign and domestic experts paid an investigation visit to the demonstration site of soil remediation technology developed by Shanghai Hejing Biotechnology Limited in Heqing Town, Pudong District. On the site, the application effect of "trichoderma sp-plant combined soil remediation technology" and "remediation by plant straw purification and reutilization technology" developed by the team headed by professor Chen Jie from School of Agriculture and Biology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and "soil remediation technology by biochar" developed by Professor Shen Guoqing.
Both foreign and domestic experts gave full affirmation to the application effect thereof. Professor Huub, et al., believed that the above soil remediation technologies do not only render obvious soil remediation effect but also are featured with low cost and enjoy substantial application prospects.
On April 21, the "Soil and Water Pollution Remediation Workshop" was hosted in School of Agriculture and Biology. At the workshop, Professor Chen Jie presented the report on "Ecological Environment Protection, Remediation Technology Demand and Cooperation Means" and representatives from Wageningen University, School of Agriculture and Biology and School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and many enterprises in Shanghai made heat discussion and experts from Dutch introduced the latest soil and water pollution remediation technology, commercial application and cooperation means thereof. At the workshop, Zhou Pei and all members of the delegation from Wageningen University made exchange and communication in an attempt to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
