On June 2, the signing ceremony of donation of Merieux NutriSciences-“Talent Scholarship and Fellowship of Merieux Food Safety” of Shanghai Jiaotong University was smoothly held in the library information building of Minhang Campus. The global president of Merieux NutriSciences Philippe Sans, general agent of China Region Chen Xin, Deputy Secretary of the School League Committee Shen Xiaodan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School Qi Hong, Director of the Department of Food Science Shi Xianming and relevant teachers of the Student Management Office and the Food Department attended the meeting. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School Gong Qiang presided over the signing ceremony of donation. 

First of all, the global president of Merieux NutriSciences Philippe Sans made a speech for the activity. He gave a simple introduction to the operation idea and management overview of Merieux, and reviewed the development condition and achievements of the company in China in recent years, and presented his hope to continuously carry out pragmatic cooperation with the school and the institute in the future in order to promote mutual strength jointly and facilitate friendly development.

Then, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Agriculture and Biology Qi Hong made a speech. First of all, she showed sincere gratitude to Merieux for the donation of talent scholarship and fellowship for food safety of the school, and wished a pleasant cooperation of both parties. She said that the spiritual connotation of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Merieux is mutual. From farmland to dining table, the direction towards we need to step is how to offer assistance in food supervision, guarantee food safety and maintain public health better. Besides, Qi Hong gave an introduction to the basic condition of the school as well as the advantages and development ideas of the school in the field of food and etc. 

Next, the representatives of both parties held the signing ceremony for cooperation and the unveiling ceremony of Shanghai Jiaotong University-Merieux summer session social practice base. Qi Hong presented the donation certificate and the appreciation certificate to Mr. Philippe Sans.
